Target Security Specialist

Starting hourly rate: $20.75 USD per hour.

Target’s AP teams protect guests, team members, and brand.

The Role:

• Use intelligence‑led tactics to keep team members and guests safe.
• Respond to crisis events, crowd control, and de‑escalation.
• Use Target’s video surveillance and case‑management systems.
• Prevent and investigate theft, shortages, and other security incidents.
• Maintain a safe store environment and support other store functions.

• Greet guests and provide friendly customer service.
• Assist guests with locating items and resolving issues.
• Document security incidents promptly and accurately.
• Leverage de‑escalation tactics to maintain safety.
• Perform merchandise receipt checks and identify loss trends.
• Use handheld scanners and other technology to support team members.
• Maintain a physical security culture and safety standards.
• Support store leaders and public safety officials as needed.

• At least 18 years old with a high‑school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills and ability to use multiple‑frequency devices.
• Capable of operating handheld scanners and technology equipment.
• Experience in fast‑moving, physically demanding environments.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds safely.
• Proactive workload management and prioritization.
• Composed and focused in a fast‑paced environment.
