Note:

This position generally works Monday through Friday, with shift times scheduled between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. Weekend shifts may be required based on staffing needs, training requirements, or special events. Schedule flexibility is required to meet the needs of the department.

This position is considered essential personnel which requires being on duty to perform emergency services of the agency without delay and/or interruption and rotates shifts. This position is required to work at the Lakewood and Arvada campuses as needed. You must be willing to accept working at various locations and working varying hours as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Possession of a current, valid Colorado Peace Officer Standards Training (P.O.S.T.) certification and a minimum of two years law enforcement experience which includes patrolling, apprehending, arresting and enforcing criminal and civil laws. Submit a copy of your POST/PID certificate with application in order to be considered. Do not use "SEE RESUME" statements on application; your application must be completed in detail and clearly document your relevant work experience.

(Part time experience will be pro-rated).

Substitutions:

Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis but will not substitute for the POST certification.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid Driver License. Must be able obtain the First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 90 days of hire if not already certified. Must not have any of the following:

  • Felony convictions
  • Domestic violence convictions
  • Acquiring more than seven points in the last year and/or more than 12 points within the last two years on a driver's license
  • Alcohol/drug related traffic convictions in the last three years and repeat alcohol/drug convictions after the age of 18 within the last ten years

Note:

Positions are subject to a background investigation in accordance with the administrative procedures of the State Personnel Director. Physical and psychological evaluations are required in accordance with section 24-31-303 (5)(b), C.R.S.

Conditions of Employment:

The Background investigation is part of the exam process. You must pass the initial review to continue in the examination and interviewing process.

After a conditional offer of employment is made, prospective employee will be required to submit to and satisfactorily pass a polygraph examination, physical and psychological examinations by a doctor or health care facility which is selected or approved by Red Rocks Community College Campus Police Department in order to determine whether or not a prospective…
