Position Summary:The Electrical Journeyman serves as a skilled field professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across a range of residential, multifamily, and commercial projects, upholding the highest standards of code compliance at both the local and national level.
Key Responsibilities:- Train and mentor apprentices.
- Install, maintain, and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, control systems, and equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical testing instruments.
- Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other trades.
- Complete daily reports, work orders, and documentation as required.
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License
- Minimum 4 years of field experience in electrical systems installation and repair.
- Solid understanding of electrical code regulations (NEC and local codes).
- OSHA 10/30 card and NFPA 70E Certification
- Agility
- Ability to lift 35-50 lbs regularly; up to 75 lbs with a partner or mechanical help
- Prolonged standing, walking, and moving across job sites.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching to access low installation areas.
- Climbing ladders up to 40 feet and ability to maintain balance and footing.
- Ability to maintain balance on uneven or cluttered job site surfaces.
- Working in varying environmental conditions (heated, cold, confined).
- Ability to work independently and in teams on construction sites or service calls.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Will work on active construction sites.
- May require overtime, weekends, and travel between job sites
- Must wear appropriate PPE and always enforce safety rules.
- Moderate noise level.
