Overview

CPI is seeking a highly motivated and AI-driven Summer Intern to help accelerate the use of Artificial Intelligence and automation across finance and business operations processes. This is a hands‑on role for someone passionate about leveraging modern AI tools to improve workflows, eliminate manual effort, and rapidly prototype intelligent automations.

This intern will work closely with technology and finance teams to identify operational inefficiencies, redesign workflows, and build automation solutions using AI‑powered tools and low‑code/no‑code platforms.

The ideal candidate is someone who is excited about experimenting with technologies like Claude, ChatGPT, Git Hub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, and workflow orchestration platforms such as n8n and Microsoft Power Platform to create practical business solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Finance, Technology, and Operations teams to identify processes suitable for automation.
  • Develop and implement AI‑assisted solutions for data processing, reporting, workflow orchestration, document generation, and financial operations support.
  • Research and propose practical AI use cases, leveraging tools such as Copilot, Claude, and other automation platforms (n8n, Power Apps, Power Automate).
  • Analyze business processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and scalability.
  • Establish and document best practices for responsible AI usage within the organization.
  • Participate in regular check‑ins with mentors and project leads to ensure progress and alignment.
  • Present findings and results to stakeholders, including use cases and impact assessments.
  • Build prototypes and lightweight production automations using AI tools to accelerate development, documentation, reporting, and workflow creation.
  • Create AI‑assisted solutions for tasks such as data processing, reporting automation, workflow orchestration, document generation, process analysis, and financial operations support.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in Artificial Intelligence, automation, and process optimization.
  • Experience or familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, etc.) and scripting/automation (Python, Power Automate, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Proactive problem‑solving mindset and willingness to learn.
  • Interest in business operations and process improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with n8n, Microsoft Power Automate, Excel automation, APIs and integrations, Python, JavaScript, or scripting languages, workflow automation platforms.
  • Exposure to finance, accounting, or operational business processes.
  • Experience building personal projects, automations, or AI‑powered workflows.
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering and AI‑assisted development practices.

Physical Demands

This position operates from a remote, work‑from‑home environment and requires the intern to maintain a professional business environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and telephones.
