Senior Firmware Engineer — Greater Boulder, CO Area

We are working with a growing engineering and technology company in the Boulder, Colorado area that develops advanced unmanned and autonomous systems used in demanding real-world applications.

This is a hands‑on Senior Firmware Engineer position for someone who enjoys working close to the hardware — developing embedded firmware, bringing up boards and devices, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and seeing their work become part of an actual operating system in the field.

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware for microcontroller-based, resource-constrained systems
• Work extensively in C/C++
• Develop within real‑time/RTOS environments where timing and deterministic performance matter
• Support board and device bring‑up, peripheral configuration and hardware/software integration
• Develop and maintain drivers, HAL/BSP functionality and low‑level interfaces
• Troubleshoot firmware and electronics using hands‑on lab/debugging tools
• Integrate sensors, actuators, telemetry and other onboard electronics
• Develop logging, diagnostics and data‑capture capabilities
• Participate in bench testing, verification and validation, regression testing and root‑cause analysis
• Work closely with electrical, systems, mechanical, integration and test engineers
• Mentor less‑experienced engineers while remaining very hands‑on technically

• Approximately 6–10+ years of embedded firmware/software experience
• Strong embedded C/C++ development experience
• Experience with microcontrollers and resource-constrained embedded systems
• Hands‑on board/device bring‑up and hardware debugging
• Experience developing drivers, HAL/BSP or other low‑level firmware
• Strong troubleshooting skills across the hardware/firmware boundary
• Experience with verification and validation in a high‑reliability, mission‑critical or safety‑sensitive environment
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field

Experience with
UAS, avionics, robotics, autonomous systems, flight controls, navigation, sensors, telemetry or other safety‑critical embedded products would be especially valuable.

Travel: Up to approximately 25%

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain the required U.S. Department of Defense security clearance. Candidates must also meet applicable U.S. export‑control requirements.
