POSITION OVERVIEW:

Lightstone is seeking to hire two summer interns within the Accounting department to help support the team across a variety of company-wide projects. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated with strong analytical skills and a passion for real estate asset types and their related accounting.

This is a full-time, non-exempt role running from approximately June 15th to August 14th.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Analyze and reconcile bank statements and general ledgers.

* Maintain and record fixed assets.

* Assist with monthly and quarterly close activities and reconcile the intercompany receivables and payables.

* Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.

* Assist in compiling reporting packages to lenders and/or joint venture partners.

* Assist in compiling and reviewing external audit requests for various testing.

* Complete miscellaneous team requests as-needed.

COMPETENCIES AND

EXPERIENCE:

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).

* Familiarity with MRI or Yardi preferred.

* Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, project management.

* Strong verbal/written communication skills and a team player.

* Studying towards a degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience required.

* Working towards eligibility to sit for the CPA exam preferred.
