Metric Geo is partnering with a heavy civil construction firm specializing in road, bridge, and heavy civil projects across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Our partner is delivering high-quality infrastructure on time and on budget, and we're looking for a Senior Project Manager to help lead that work.
Position OverviewMetric Geo is seeking a Senior Project Manager with 10 years of experience managing civil, road, and bridge construction projects. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and hands-on familiarity with PennDOT and NJDOT specifications, processes, and compliance requirements. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, a sharp problem-solver, and comfortable managing both the technical and administrative sides of a project from bid through closeout.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day management of civil/road and bridge construction projects, from planning through completion
- Ensure all work complies with PennDOT and NJDOT standards, permits, and specifications
- Serve as primary point of contact for internal teams, subcontractors, clients, and state/municipal agency representatives
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents; identify and resolve design or field conflicts
- Manage project schedules, budgets, change orders, and RFIs
- Prepare and review technical reports, correspondence, and project documentation
- Coordinate with field superintendents and crews to maintain safety, quality, and schedule targets
- Track project costs and provide regular status updates to leadership
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (required)
- 4-8 years of construction project management experience in civil/road and bridge work
- Demonstrated experience working on PennDOT and/or NJDOT projects
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills for coordinating with clients, agencies, and internal teams
- Proven problem-solving ability in fast-paced field environments
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) a plus
- Valid driver's license required
