IMMEDIATE OPENING
POSITION SUMMARYChurch of the Incarnation will be implementing a new faith formation program “Educating In Christ.” It is based on the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd but adapted for easier use in the parish. Educating In Christ uses a Montessori model to catechize and foster a yearning for God in each child, through each development stage (). The new director will help to transition our program into Educating In Christ over the next year.
This is a great opportunity to be on the ground floor of something new.
Salary/Compensation:
Estimated at $48,500 – $52,500 per year (40 hours per week, with weekends as needed).
- Reports directly to the pastor. Responsible for sacraments First Eucharist, Reconciliation, Confirmation, OCIA for Children and Teens; retreats, rehearsals, records
- Coordinates programs, classes and activities for youth religious education
- Manages the budget for youth religious education and presents annual calendar of events for youth religious education
- Promotes Weekly Mass attendance and parish involvement among parents and children
- Ensures all diocesan curriculum requirements are satisfied
- Compliant with all VIRTUS training, certifications and renewals of all people that come into contact with children
- Flexibility/availability with work schedule
-Available for weekend sacrament celebrations. - Mandatory attendance for evening youth religious education classes, currently Tuesday and Wednesday evenings
- Develop service programs, Liturgy of the Word for Children. Eventually create summer Vacation Bible School
- Able to collaborate with parish staff, OCIA coordinator and mentor religious education staff
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with their parish / worships weekly/ Lived spirituality of love of God and of neighbor
- Experience with working with children and parents, prudence with sensitive and confidential issues. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding children and their families
- Superior written, verbal and organization skills
- Ability to work with and manage catechists; ability to work with Diocese
- Familiar with a Church management software or other member management software
An undergraduate/graduate degree in theology or religious education is desirable but not necessary
Catechetical leadership certification
