Boiler Operator, Blue Seal

Boiler Operator, Blue Seal (Req #) – Evening shift – Full Time – Plant Operations – Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus – Pay Range: $34.00 – $40.00 per hour.

Operate and maintain stationary engines and mechanical equipment in the boiler room. Perform preventive maintenance on boiler room equipment and related devices. Respond to emergency calls and perform other tasks as directed by the Chief Engineer, Manager, or Director of Engineering.

• Work independently and complete repairs from start to finish.
• Use Andover Controls and other ATC/BMS systems.
• Accurately troubleshoot equipment for repairs.
• Maintain accurate inventory and history of all medical center equipment.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including annual shutdowns, cleaning, and inspections of boilers.
• Collect data on boilers, water treatment, water temperature and fuel consumption.
• Complete required documentation for all work performed accurately and legibly.
• Inspect equipment periodically to ensure safety regulations are met and operations are efficient.
• Maintain sufficient stock of materials necessary for repairs.
• Record daily work activities.
• Perform emergency repairs on boiler equipment and related devices.
• Respond to temperature control problems per staff and patient satisfaction guidelines.
• Care for the medical center’s tools and equipment.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the work area.
• Make appropriate repairs as needed in the medication room.

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Minimum of 3 years as a power plant operating engineer.
• Strong oral and written skills; computer literate; ability to read operating and service manuals.

• New Jersey Third Grade Stationary Engineer License (Blue Seal).

• Full-time, evening shift.
