Clover Park School District is seeking subsitute counselor applicants. We seek educators who are committed to ongoing professional and personal growth and who are eager to contribute to the success of a dynamic, growing school district.
SUBSTITUTE POSITIONS ARE ON-CALL, AT-WILL POSITIONS WITH NO GUARANTEE OF HOURS OR WORK.
* Certificated Substitute Pay Rates
$200/day or $100/half-day
$210/day Upon completion of CPSD Guest Teacher training, substitute is eligible to receive
$225/day substitutes that have retired from the Clover Park School District

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Valid Educational Staff Asociate certificate with a Counselor required.
* Training in one or more of the following areas:
Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS), Safe & Civil Schools, Response to Intervention (RtI) or Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Crisis intervention, suicide and sexual assault prevention, gangs, at-risk students, or other areas.
* Demonstrated ability to successfully employ effective counselor methods.
* Demonstrated desire and ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Counselors will promote student success through the implementation of a preventative, proactive school counseling program using the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model: A Framework for School Counseling Programs (2005).
* Provides support of the district comprehensive school counseling program around three domains: academic, career, and social/emotional development.
* Provides direct and indirect services through the school counseling core curriculum, individual student planning, and preventive and responsive services.
* Demonstrates classroom management and instructional skills.
* Collaborates with parents/guardians and educators to assist students with educational, career, and life planning.
* Understands career opportunities, labor market trends and global economics and uses various career assessment techniques to help students understand their abilities and career interests.
* Provides individual and group counseling to students with identified concerns and needs.
* Consults and collaborates effectively with parents/guardians, teachers, administrators, and other educational/community resources regarding students with identified concerns and needs.
* Delivers classroom and school-wide preventive and responsive services as needed, e.g., Harassment-Intimidation-Bullying (HIB), character traits, managing conflict and test-taking strategies.
* Implements an effective referral and follow-up process as needed.
* Accurately and appropriately uses assessment procedures for determining and structuring individual and group counseling services.
* Refers students to appropriate professionals when necessary, and follows through to make sure the student's needs are met.
* Provides appropriate information to school personnel related to the comprehensive school counseling program.
* Assists teachers, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders in interpreting and understanding data.
* Interacts and supervises students in a variety of settings, e.g., assemblies, lunchrooms, before and after school, during classroom transitions in order to establish relationships with students and observe student behaviors.
* Adheres to laws, policies, procedures, and ethical standards of the school counseling profession.
