Summary of Assignment

Under general direction of the building administrator, is responsible for planning, providing, and evaluating varied learning experiences of students in cooperation with other staff members, parents, and the public.

Essential Functions
  • Makes long and short-range plans for each subject area of instruction.
  • Thorough knowledge of subject areas taught.
  • Provides for individual differences in the learning needs of students.
  • Demonstrates subject mastery.
  • Provides a classroom climate which is based on mutual respect, rapport, fairness and consistency.
  • Demonstrates competency in instructional skills.
  • Evaluates in terms of planned goals and revises instruction as a result of the evaluation.
  • Informs pupils of their progress in terms of the objectives set for the lesson or course of study.
  • Interacts positively with students, professional associates, and patrons of the school district.
  • Meets classes, renders accurate reports, performs assigned duties punctually.
  • Adjusts to varied situations, demands, and new instructional concepts.
  • Fulfills job-related non-teaching duties.
  • Directs student teachers, para educators, pupil tutors, Option C students, methods class students, and parent volunteers when such personnel are accepted to enhance the instructional program.
  • Handles student discipline and attendant problems.

Work is performed in a regular school building.

Conditions of Employment

Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW 28A.400.303. The fingerprint scan must be completed prior to the first day of employment. (

All associated background check fees are the employee’s responsibility.)

Insurance Benefits
  • Eligible employees who are anticipated to work 630 hours during the school year (September 1 through August 31) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, long term disability and basic life insurance benefits.
Retirement and Deferred Compensation
  • Eligible employees are required to be a member of the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems Plan.
  • Employees also have the ability to participate in a tax‑deferred 403(b) and 457 Deferred Compensation Plan (DCP). These are supplemental retirement savings programs that allow you to control the amount of pre‑tax salary dollars you defer and the flexibility to choose between multiple investment options.
  • To enroll in an eligible 403(b) plan, employees must consult with their own financial planner that is an approved vendor.

* Clover Park School District total possible pay consists of base salary plus the following:

  • Building Centered Responsibility - 5 days
  • District Centered Responsibility - 2.5 days
  • Event Responsibility - 1 day
  • Attendance required for compensation of responsibility pay (building‑centered, district‑centered, and event).
