Under the supervision of the Associate Director for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Campus Climate, the Manager of the Peer Mentoring Center
- Bilingual Spanish/English will be responsible for the overall development, management, and operations of the College's student peer mentoring initiatives, including the management of the Peer Mentoring Center. The Manager of the Peer Mentoring Center will ensure that peer mentoring resources are centered around students in transition, specifically students who are on the college journey in Transitional Studies, high school programs, and/or general education studies.

This position requires you to comfortably and accurately converse at a conversational and intermediate level in both English and Spanish. The desired start date is September 1, 2026, and this is a full-time project position funded by a grant ending on June 30, 2029.

Duty: Program Administration and Peer Mentoring Center Operations Tasks include:

• Develop, manage, and maintain operations for the Peer Mentoring Center within a student identity development framework that is consistent with College Access:
  Research & Action (CARA) and RCW 28B.50.920
• Work closely with the Transitional Studies, Northwest Technical High School, General Studies, Palmer Pathways faculty and administrators, and relevant community organizations to develop peer mentoring initiatives that benefit student populations
• Provide direct supervision, training, professional development, and evaluation to six peer student leaders to understand how to support student mentees with each of the 5 core competencies (college environment and fit, paying for college, navigating college systems, career pathways, and counseling and communication) through regular individual meetings, staff meetings, annual trainings, and student employee onboarding orientations.
• Conduct quarterly College Access:
  Research & Action trainings for Peer Mentors, culminating in 70+ hours a year of training.
• Sustain an authentic relationship and partnership with CARA to support the goal of postsecondary degree completion at CPTC.
• In partnership with Transitional Studies, develop a College 102 pilot for ABE/ESL with embedded Peer Mentors.
• Track quarterly reporting systems (i.e., benchmark tracking, early alerts, case notes)
• Oversee and evaluate student-led events and programming that support peer mentoring desired outcomes.
• Work with Institutional Effectiveness, Enrollment Services, and Student Success to collect data that reflect the program's benchmark objectives and strategic goals (i.e., sense of belonging, college navigation skills, student retention, academic progress, graduation)

Duty: College Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Strategic Priorities Implementation Tasks include:

• Contribute to the college-wide investigation, monitoring, and elimination of equity gaps related to college access and completion.
• Assist the College with creating a campus climate that is inclusive and welcoming to all students, especially students from marginalized and historically underrepresented populations.
• Aid in the College's Guided Pathways Workplan goal to ensure ABE/ESL students are on the path to high-wage credentials.
• Assist with the development and implementation of a high-touch, proactive retention measure that helps to improve outcomes for students in Transitional Studies, Northwest Technical High School, General Studies, and Palmer Pathways
• Use data to demonstrate the effectiveness of programming in support of our college goal of increasing persistence, retention, and success of diverse student populations for students of color, first-generation students, low-income students, and students with disabilities
