The Manager of Inclusive Excellence and Belonging position will provide leadership, direction, and guidance for the development of comprehensive initiatives for staff, faculty, and degree‑seeking students, aimed at eliminating structural racism. This includes the management of the Male Engagement Center (MEC), developing identity‑based programmatic offerings designed to support student success efforts for underrepresented groups, and providing college‑wide learning and tools to address matters related to inclusive excellence and belonging.
This position will build upon the efforts of culturally appropriate outreach, recruitment, retention, and completion for underrepresented communities. The Manager of Inclusive Excellence and Belonging will provide subject matter expertise on education, coaching, consultation, programming, evaluation, and reporting for closing equity gaps. This position is critical in fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement, organizational accountability and effectiveness, compliance, momentum, and advancement towards Clover Park Technical College's (CPTC) and Washington state's equitable and anti‑racist goals.
and Tasks (Essential Functions)
Duty:
Program Administration and MEC Operations
- Develop, manage, and maintain operations for the MEC within an inclusive excellence and belonging framework.
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a four‑person MEC student leadership team to ensure student voice and input are centered in the development of program offerings.
- Design and introduce annual large‑scale inclusion and belonging opportunities for campus community members to engage with affinity/identity conscious programming (summits, retreats, caucusing, conferences, etc.) beginning with a focus on minority male student success programming.
- Lead the implementation of MEC initiatives for student achievement, collaborating with on and off‑campus partners, staff, and faculty to carry out objectives.
- Design and implement programs that develop a sense of belonging through intentional programming and activities geared toward specific identity‑based communities.
- Provide professional mentoring, advocacy support, and referral to students and assist them in overcoming academic difficulties, barriers, or obstacles to student involvement, retention, persistence, and completion.
- Assist with the development and implementation of a high‑touch, proactive retention measure that helps to improve outcomes for men of color on campus
- Track quarterly reporting systems (i.e., benchmark tracking, early alerts, case notes)
- Work with Institutional Effectiveness, Enrollment Services, Student Success, and Instruction to collect data and develop reports that reflect the program's benchmark objectives and strategic goals (i.e., sense of belonging, college navigation skills, student retention, academic progress, graduation)
- Manage the MEC Advisory Committee
