Assignment Pay:
Employee will receive assignment pay of 10% when qualified and required to carry a firearm.
Under the supervision of the Campus Security Safety Supervisor (Security Supervisor), responsible for providing leadership and administrative support to security personnel ensuring collaboration and consistency across all shifts. Provides 24/7 installation access control and security duties as a member of the security team.

- Security shift supervisor for day, swing, or graveyard shift providing leadership and administrative support to assigned personnel.
- Collaborates with supervisors and other security personnel across all shifts ensuring communication and consistency of the security program.
- Provides installation access control at one of several access control points following prescribed security instructions and access control policies.
- Patrols, inspects, and monitors building, grounds, and roadways; responds to incidents/emergencies; provides other required services to ensure that safety and security of installation personnel/visitors, facilities, equipment, and information.
- Gathers information and writes accurate incident/investigative reports for review/action by supervisory personnel.
- Supports additional security requirements for National Guard and State emergency/disaster response drills, exercises, special events, and training.
- Supports the Camp Murray Joint Security Initiative combining Federal and State resources for a holistic effort to installation security.
- Communicate with the public, other employees, and converse by radio and telephone as necessary to ensure quick response to security related situations.
- Understand and follow applicable laws, regulations, and other standards to establish and / or maintain a safe work environment.
- Handle highly stressful or adverse situations, make good decisions, work calmly and accurately, and help calm others.
- Use of senses and reasoning to gather information and make independent determinations regarding ongoing security issues. This also involves the ability to think and respond appropriately when quick / decisive action is required in emergency / stressful situations.
- Read, understand, communicate and abide by applicable department policies / procedures, state / federal laws, ordinances, rules and regulations associated with assigned security duties.
- Gather information, develop accurate written incident / investigative reports and follow up on security incidents. This includes the ability to interview, obtain and accurately document statements from victims, witnesses, suspects, and / or confidential informers.
- Use word processing software, such as Microsoft Word to create, format, edit, preview, print, and save documents. Use standard functions to select, edit, copy, paste, format, and spell check text. Create bulleted and numbered lists, indent and align paragraphs, and use bordering and shading features.
