AI Research Engineer

Salary

Company Description

Blue Pill AI is a $6M seed-funded Seattle-based startup backed by Ubiquity Ventures and Pioneer Square Labs, building digital twins of real audiences for automated market research.

Job Description

You will own the end-to-end model training pipeline at Blue Pill AI, moving beyond simple API integrations to work directly within model weights. You'll fine-tune and align LLMs to create "AI consumers"---simulated audiences that react with 93% accuracy compared to human panels, revolutionizing how brands test products and messaging in minutes.

Why this role is remarkable
  • Work directly on the weights of foundational models using cutting-edge techniques like LoRA and RLHF rather than building wrappers around existing APIs.
  • Join a high-traction, $6M seed-funded startup backed by top investors like Pioneer Square Labs and Flying Fish Partners, with a product already hitting 93% human accuracy.
  • Shape the future of market research by building "AI consumers" in a small, elite team led by an ex-Amazon AI founder from Cornell.
What You Will Do
  • Own the complete end-to-end model training and alignment pipeline for Blue Pill AI's proprietary audience simulation engine.
  • Implement and iterate on advanced post-training techniques including SFT, DPO, and PEFT to align model behavior with complex human audience data.
  • Build and scale distributed training infrastructure to optimize the performance and deployment of foundational models across the platform.
The ideal candidate
  • Deep experience building foundational models or fine-tuning LLMs using advanced methodologies like RLHF and LoRA.
  • Strong background in machine learning research with the ability to implement novel approaches from academic papers into production systems.
  • Proven track record of optimizing distributed training infrastructure and working effectively in a fast-paced, high-ownership startup environment.
