About the Position
Transdev in Lakewood, Washington is hiring a Utility Worker/Service Employee to perform basic vehicle servicing duties. The role is customer service‑oriented and dedicated to safety.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain cleanliness of fleet vehicles – interior and exterior
- Driving, maneuvering, and parking vehicles
- Fueling buses, replenishing fluids and logging all fluids
- Downloading drive cameras & probes fare boxes
- Perform light maintenance to shop areas, fueling stations, and related facilities
- Report maintenance issues to supervisor
- Other duties as required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
- Must be able to meet company and contract specific hiring requirements including driving record and criminal background check
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions – 100% of the job is performed outside, often alone and in remote locations
- Frequently walk long distances and may encounter sloped ground, slippery and uneven surfaces
- Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds; lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel or crouch to locate equipment stored at ground level
- Withstand heavy traffic areas and exposure to dust, vehicle fumes and noise
- Competitive compensation: $18.50–$19.50 per hour
- Vacation: minimum of two weeks
- Sick days: one earned for every 40 hours worked
- Holidays: 12 days annually; 8 standard and 4 floating
