Current CPR certification;
Neonatal Resuscitation Certification; ACLS within one year of employment

Must-Have:
Knowledge of or interest in learning labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursing care essentials
Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations
Good communication skills

Description:

The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of their practice.
This position involves direct patient care to women in labor, through delivery, and postpartum, as well as direct care to the newborn.
The RN is responsible for all aspects of maternal childcare.
Duties include performing assessments, monitoring the process of labor, preparing for C-sections, inductions, and proper documentation of nursing care.
The RN administers care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum including infant care and providing patient education.
Preparing the delivery room, providing emotional support, and coordinating transfers are also key responsibilities.
The RN administers IV medications, adheres to principles of infection control, and follows general policies of the obstetrics department.
Physical demands include long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting.
Exposure to blood and body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells, and possible infectious diseases is expected.
The RN reports directly to the Birth Center Manager.
