L&D RN - Nights

Overview

The RN provides direct patient care for women in labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care. Responsibilities include assessments, monitoring labor, preparing for C-sections, inductions, documentation, and patient education.

• Perform assessments and monitor the labor process.
• Prepare for C-sections, inductions, and document nursing care.
• Administer care during labor, post‑delivery, and postpartum, including infant care.
• Provide emotional support and coordinate patient transfers.
• Administer IV medications and adhere to infection control principles and OB department policies.
• Maintain sterile technique and use obstetric equipment as required.

• RN graduate with current Colorado licensure.
• Current CPR certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Certification.
• ACLS certification within one year of employment.
• Minimum 4 years experience in obstetrics care (preferred).
• Knowledge or interest in labor, delivery, postpartum, and infant care.
• Strong sterile technique, infection control, and technical mother/infant care skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations and communicate with diverse populations.

Full-time, 36 hours per week, shift 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. May rotate shifts and areas per staffing needs. Physical demands include long periods of standing, walking, heavy lifting, and exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

Requires BLS/BCLS.

Reports directly to the New Beginnings Birth Center Manager.
