Description:
The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the surgical services scope of practice.
The RN must have experience in all three areas:
Pre-op, OR/Circulator, and PACU.The RN will function as a primary caregiver in all three areas.
Conduct assessments and document care provided to patients.
Provide emotional support and coordinate patient transfers.
Recover patients and circulate surgical cases.
Assist with processing instruments and equipment in sterilization.
Prepare patients for surgery and provide patient education.
Knowledge of and interest in technical procedures and care is essential.
Adhere to principles of infection control and department policies.
Follow national standards as outlined by relevant organizations.
Report directly to the Surgical Services Manager or designated personnel.
Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations is required.
Must interact effectively with a diverse range of individuals and possess strong communication skills.
Physical demands include long periods of standing and walking, as well as heavy lifting.
There is exposure to blood, body fluids, and potential infectious diseases.
