Registered Nurse – PreOp

Registered Nurse (RN) Surgical Services

The RN provides comprehensive patient care across all phases of surgical services, including preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative areas. The role requires versatility and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient assessments prior to surgery and document findings accurately.
• Circulate during surgical cases, ensuring equipment and supplies are prepared and sterile techniques are maintained.
• Recover patients post-surgery, monitoring vital signs and providing necessary interventions.
• Assist with processing instruments and sterilizing surgical equipment in accordance with infection control standards.
• Educate patients and their families about preoperative and postoperative procedures and care.
• Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure seamless patient care and safety throughout all phases.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current Colorado RN license with a minimum of 3 years of experience in pre-op, OR, or PACU settings preferred.
• Possess ACLS certification; CNOR and scrub experience are preferred.
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively under stress and collaborate within a team.
• Exhibit strong communication skills and emotional resilience in high-pressure situations.
• Capable of long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting, with exposure to blood and body fluids.
