Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides comprehensive maternal and neonatal care to women during labor, delivery, postpartum, and immediate neonatal stages. This role involves assessing patient needs, administering treatments, and supporting families through childbirth processes.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments and monitor labor progression to ensure safe delivery.
- Prepare delivery rooms and assist with childbirth, including C-sections and inductions.
- Administer medications, including IV therapies, and document nursing interventions accurately.
- Deliver compassionate emotional support to patients and their families throughout labor and postpartum.
- Adhere to infection control policies and maintain sterile techniques during procedures.
- Collaborate with medical teams to coordinate transfers and provide patient education on postpartum and neonatal care.
Qualifications:
- Valid RN license with current Colorado licensure.
- Current CPR certification required;
Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS within one year of employment. - Minimum of 4 years experience in obstetric nursing preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of labor, delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care principles.
- Strong communication skills and ability to perform effectively in high-stress situations.
