Registered Nurse – PreOp

Job Summary:

The registered nurse provides comprehensive perioperative care within surgical services, functioning across pre-op, operating room, and PACU settings. They are responsible for ensuring safe, efficient patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans for all perioperative stages.
• Circulate surgical cases, assist with instrument processing, and ensure all equipment is ready and sterile.
• Recover patients post-surgery, monitor vital signs, and manage pain and recovery protocols.
• Educate patients and their families on procedures, recovery, and post-operative care.
• Adhere to infection control policies and national standards set by industry organizations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient transfers and optimize care.

Qualifications:

• Current Colorado RN license with a minimum of 3 years' experience in pre-op, OR, or PACU settings.
• Certification in ACLS; CNOR certification and scrub experience preferred.
• Ability to perform effectively in high-stress situations with excellent communication skills.
• Capable of long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting in a clinical environment.
• Knowledge of and compliance with infection control and safety standards.
