Maintenance Handyman
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Handyman for a seasonal temporary position.
Job SummaryPerform maintenance tasks to ensure proper functioning and upkeep of facilities and equipment.
Responsibilities- Conduct basic repairs and maintenance.
- Identify and report major repair needs.
- Repair or replace defective equipment, fixtures, and hardware.
- Perform carpentry work.
- Paint and refurbish various areas of the facility as needed.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule.
- Conduct regular checks and maintenance of building systems, including lighting, heating, cooling, and plumbing.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools and equipment.
- Assist with landscaping and outdoor maintenance tasks as needed.
- Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and materials.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training or certification in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance systems.
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
- Applicant must supply own basic hand tools.
- Applicant must provide own vehicle (no mileage reimbursement).
- Both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.
- Position may require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
Pay: $15.16 per hour. Seasonal temporary position with .75 FTE. This position is not benefit eligible. No relocation assistance is provided. Sick leave shall be accrued in accordance with the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (SB20-205).
