What You'll DoAs an Educational Diagnostician, you will:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations to determine students' educational strengths, learning needs, and eligibility for special education services.
Interpret assessment data and prepare clear, meaningful evaluation reports.
Partner with teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers to develop individualized educational plans that support student growth.
Serve as an active member of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committees by sharing evaluation results and providing recommendations.
Recommend appropriate instructional strategies, accommodations, and interventions based on student needs.
Conduct reevaluations in accordance with state and federal requirements.
Ensure all evaluations, documentation, and timelines meet Texas Education Agency (TEA) and federal compliance standards.
Maintain accurate, confidential student records.
Stay current on assessment practices, special education laws, and best practices through ongoing professional learning.
Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff while supporting a collaborative, student-centered culture.
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Special Education Department.
Master's degree in Educational Assessment or a closely related field
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
Valid Texas Educational Diagnostician Certificate
Minimum of two years of successful classroom teaching experience
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong knowledge of educational assessments and diagnostic procedures
Understanding of special education laws, regulations, and eligibility requirements
Knowledge of child development, learning theories, and instructional practices for students with disabilities
The ability to analyze and interpret assessment data to make informed recommendations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
A collaborative mindset with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and serving students with professionalism and integrity

WorkingConditions
This position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail. The Educational Diagnostician will regularly travel between district campuses, use technology to complete assessments and reports, and participate in meetings throughout the school year. Occasional lifting of testing materials and equipment up to 20 pounds may be required.
