Operations Manager- Onsite Texas

We are seeking an Operations Manager for our client in the commercial silica materials space.

Our client is an industry leader in the production of products derived from diatomaceous earth, perlite, engineered clays, and non-activated clays. Sand Box Logistics is a state‑of‑the‑art leader in proppant storage, handling and well‑site delivery, and is dedicated to making proppant logistics cleaner, safer, and more efficient. The company has 26 operating mines and processing facilities and two additional exploration stage properties across the United States and is headquartered in Katy, Texas.

Onsite

Monday - Friday 24/7 Operation – This person will be required to be on‑call. Some weekends as needed.

• Guides, organizes, and directs the hourly workforce in conjunction with superintendents and supervisors.
• Manages plant operations and collaborates with maintenance to ensure equipment is maintained in satisfactory condition.
• Controls plant direct production and costs through effective planning and management.
• Assures training, implementation, and maintenance of quality, health, safety, and environmental programs.
• Assists the Plant Manager with development and execution of capital and annual budget plans.
• Performs administrative duties required to meet job goals including planning, budgeting, scheduling and reporting.
• Responsible for the overall management, direction and coordination of the production processes.
• Plans, evaluates, recommends, implements and monitors production to minimize costs and meet quality and regulatory needs for the operations. Coordinate interdepartmental needs.
• Provides continual improvement in production to safely meet customer demands while working to reduce costs and increase productivity.
• Works with operators to collect data in a timely manner for trending, problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Coordinates with the maintenance department to schedule preventative maintenance as well as reactive maintenance when unscheduled downtime occurs.
• Follows and promotes all safety regulations and ensures plant adheres to the company EHS and MSHA policies and regulations.
• Manages the production departments, interfaces with mine personnel, and coordinates with maintenance, purchasing, customer service and accounting.
• Additional duties as assigned.

10+ years of progressive experience in mine supervisory/management, with at least 5 years in a management role; alternatively 7+ years of experience in maintenance with a high school diploma or GED.

Mining industry experience, particularly in production and maintenance; experience in a similar field, such as engineering or operations management.

Bachelor of Science in Geological Sciences or Engineering; alternatively a high school diploma or GED with relevant experience.
