HGV Technician - Chorley

£19.50 per hour | Overtime at x1.5 | Monday–Friday Days | 8:00am–5:00pm | 30-minute break

The Role of the HGV Technician

Working within a highly skilled and supportive workshop team, you will maintain and repair a mixed fleet of commercial vehicles.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Servicing and pre-planned maintenance
  • Reactive repairs and defect rectification
  • Full vehicle diagnostics using manufacturer equipment
  • Brake, clutch, gearbox, engine and electrical repairs
  • MOT preparation and presentation
  • Trailer and drawbar maintenance
  • General workshop duties to a high professional standard

This is a hands‑on role suited to a technician who enjoys variety and working on all makes and models.

What We’re Looking For in a HGV Technician
  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician
  • NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding ability
  • Good working knowledge of trailers
  • Class 1 licence desirable but not essential
  • Professional attitude and commitment to quality
