JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the Electrical Installation Supervisor role is to contribute to successful project execution by coordinating, supervising and verifying electrical installation activities associated with SPX FLOW process systems.
The Electrical Installation Supervisor supports projects during preparation, installation and pre‑commissioning phases and ensures that electrical systems are installed safely, efficiently and in compliance with project specifications, customer requirements and applicable standards.
Working closely with the Project Manager, Electrical Engineering team, Automation Engineers and the Installation & Commissioning (I&C) team, the job holder acts as SPX’s technical authority for electrical installation activities on site.
The Electrical Installation Supervisor coordinates electrical subcontractors, verifies installation quality, supports safe energisation of equipment and ensures electrical systems are ready for commissioning.
Depending on project size and execution model, the job holder may act as:
- Electrical Installation Supervisor
- Electrical Installation Coordinator
- Electrical Pre‑Commissioning Engineer
The role requires frequent travel to SPX FLOW and supplier workshops and customer sites within Europe and internationally.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Electrical Installation Supervisor complies with SPX FLOW project execution processes and contributes to project delivery within the agreed schedule, quality and safety parameters.
Responsibilities span design preparation, installation execution and electrical pre‑commissioning activities.
Project Preparation and Installation PlanningThe Electrical Installation Supervisor supports Project Preparation by:
- Reviewing project scope and contractual responsibilities related to electrical installation
- Reviewing customer electrical specifications and applicable local regulations
- Participating in site surveys and constructability reviews
- Preparing RFQs and technical specifications for electrical installation contractors
- Evaluating installation suppliers together with project and supply chain teams
- Reviewing installation material requirements and contractor BOMs
- Coordinating electrical installation activities with project managers, planners and engineering teams
The Electrical Installation Supervisor may be required to:
- Attend supplier workshops to inspect electrical control panels and equipment
- Configure equipment such as VFDs, PLC and switches
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) of control panels and electrical equipment
- Verify wiring quality, labelling and compliance with electrical drawings
- Support electrical assembly and skid wiring activities within SPX mechanical workshops where required
- Ensure electrical equipment delivered to site is compliant and ready for installation
The Electrical Installation Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising electrical installation activities during site execution.
Ensuring that electrical installation work is performed safely, in accordance with project drawings, specifications and applicable standards, and that installation quality meets SPX FLOW and customer requirements.
Includes:
- Acting as the primary technical authority for electrical installation matters on site
- Interpreting electrical drawings, standards and specifications and resolving installation queries
- Ensuring installation complies with SPX electrical standards and customer specifications
- Liaising with site representatives regarding safety procedures, inductions and permits
- Acting as the technical interface between electrical engineering, automation engineering, installation contractors and commissioning teams
- Coordinating electrical installation activities with mechanical installation teams
- Supporting resolution of installation issues by coordinating with engineering teams and updating documentation where required
- Organising or participating in installation kick‑off meetings with contractors
- Briefing installation teams on scope, priorities and applicable standards
