Job Overview

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for managing program billing, maintaining relationships with funders and vendors, and ensuring accurate financial reporting s role involves overseeing financial processes, enhancing internal controls, and supporting the clinic’s mission through effective financial management. Living Wage Social Services agency. Must be prepared to pass the DOJ background check and DMV check.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Included but not limited to):
  • Understand the principles and procedures of bookkeeping and record-keeping.
  • Manage and process billing for various programs, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing and collections.
  • Process accounts payable: review and code vendor invoices, enter into the system, prepare payments, maintain vendor files, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Perform month-end close: complete bank reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and generate financial reports.
  • Manage accounts receivable: review, reconcile, and analyze A/R aging reports; follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Support the team during financial audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Assist with payroll: gather and verify timekeeping data, preparing payroll reports, ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies, and recording payroll journal entries.
  • Reconcile inventory records with actual stock to maintain accurate financial reporting.
Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED;
    Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in accounting or bookkeeping; nonprofit or healthcare experience preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of general accounting principles, including A/P and A/R processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Sage, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with program billing, managing relationships with funders and vendors, and handling financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation
