How You Will Make an Impact
The Board Liaison is an operational and governance position acting as the critical bridge between a charter school's Board of Directors, school leadership, and external authorize rs (school districts or county offices of education). The role ensures the board complies with state regulations and operates efficiently. This position reports to the Director, Board Relations Liaison or their designee.

- Internal Board Communication
- Work closely with Legal team on Organization schools' quarterly board meetings to provide complete agendas and backup documentation to board members within the required date prior to each board meeting.
- Manage board meeting dates for each L4L school board and notifications to the school board members and L4L staff.
- Coordinate with Education, Legal and Finance teams to ensure proper L4L attendance at each L4L charter school board.
- Coordinate with internal staff for required postings at locations and school website in accordance with the Brown Act.
- Maintain digital files of each board meeting agendas and supporting documentation.
- External Authorizing School District/County Office of Ed Board Monitoring
- Monitor all of our authorizing school district or county board agendas upon posting on authorizer websites and alerting specific Leadership Team members of items noted that may have an impact on charter schools or specifically our school(s).
- Coordinate and ensure proper attendance at any given board meeting.
- Communicate in advance with the Superintendent or authorizer contact prior to board meetings.
- Gather, maintain and communicate with specific Leadership Team members of updates from conversations and/or authorizing board meetings for awareness or action items.
- Review all governing board minutes and documenting in database of various key items.
- Communicate with specific Leadership Team, updating any significant information noted in authorizer board minutes.
- Develop and maintain a calendar of quarterly presence or presentations by our Leadership Team for each of our authorizing governing board meetings.
- Develop and maintain an online governing board update report for each quarterly presence/presentation and all documents presented or distributed to authorizing district.
- Work with Charter Affairs team to maintain the authorizing governing board database (currently under development) with most current information and calendar of meetings and presence of our Leadership Team.
- Conduct consistent review of Board of Directors' emails.
- Perform regular reviews of school websites.
- Review board agendas, minutes, and supporting documents.
- Attend and record all board meetings.
- SB126 required recordings for applicable charter schools, record meetings and ensure recordings are posted to the respective school websites.
- Support board agenda postings, distribute agendas to school learning centers, administrative location(s), off-site locations, and websites; obtain and archive photo confirmations for each board meeting location posting.
