The Student Relations Technician creates and maintains files related to student records, data input, reconciliation, correspondence, and public contact. They communicate with students and/or parents about student information, progress, or concerns, and perform activities related to student records and compliance with Average Daily Attendance (ADA) and state educational mandates.
Responsibilities & Duties- Schedule orientation for incoming students
- Comply with expulsion, ELL, special education, re‑enrollment, and reinstatement enrollment protocols
- Ensure all required student enrollment paperwork is complete and correct
- Accurately input student information into the SIS, including immunizations, enrollment dates, school track, and supervising teacher
- Properly issue and track student work permits
- Provide quality customer service
- Answer all incoming telephone calls and handle them appropriately
- File documents in student folders
- Track and record ADA work samples for accuracy
- Audit student work samples and all mandatory compliance documents (Master Agreement, WSR, DLL, Synopsis, Report Cards, etc.)
- Check report cards for completeness and accuracy before sending to the registrar
- File student homework
- Conduct orientations for new students
- Assist teachers with compliance and PLS problem solving
- Create and maintain compliance and ADA checklists
- Verify and confirm ADA in SIS system with form and tracking number
- Submit compliance error reports to management
- Adhere to attendance policies
- Perform administrative duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or General Education required
- 2 years of work experience in a fast‑paced, clerical support position in a professional business setting
- Excellent customer service skills, including friendly greeting and timely follow‑up
- Strong multi‑tasking skills, able to react and respond to changing circumstances and procedures
- Able to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple requests or interruptions while completing projects or work assignments on time
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction
- Proficient or intermediate skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Good attention to detail and accuracy of work
- Good record‑keeping and organizational skills
- Ability to prepare general, statistical and special reports
Ability to travel in performance of job duties is required.
Physical Requirements- Mental demands: high workflow management, high project coordination
- Finger dexterity: typing, picking up small objects
- Talking, especially conveying detailed instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly
- Average hearing: able to hear normal conversations and receive ordinary information
- Average visual abilities: ordinary acuity needed to prepare or inspect documents
- Physical strength: sedentary work, sitting most of the time, occasional exertion up to 10 lbs.
- Frequent multi‑tasking, changing task priorities, repetitive exacting work required
- Working in a noisy, distracting environment with frequent deadline pressures
