Job Summary:
Under general supervision, the Art Program Leader will perform customer service duties, process donations and sales, and supervise galleries. The Art Program Leader assists with tours, rentals, and special events at the City of Lancaster’s Museum of Art and History, MOAH: CEDAR, Western Hotel Museum, and the Elyze Clifford Interpretive Center.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Greet guests and provide information regarding exhibits, activities, and events taking place at any one of the museum’s locations.
- Answer incoming calls; take messages, determine the purpose of callers, and forward calls to appropriate personnel.
- Direct visitors appropriately.
- Provide courteous and accurate information in-person and via phone and email.
- Process donations and conduct sale transactions, ensuring proper use of cash handling procedures.
- Retrieve, sort, and distribute daily mail and deliveries.
- Keep galleries clean and presentable daily.
- Set up, staff, and tear down events and rentals.
- Assist in the deinstallation and packaging of artwork.
- Assist in the repair and painting of galleries for exhibitions.
- Perform related duties as required.

- Must be able to work approximately 18 hours a week, which includes weekends and some evenings.
- Must be well organized, highly motivated, and possess good writing, typing, speaking, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of or an interest in, and appreciation of, the visual arts and history is preferred.
- Ability to organize and coordinate a variety of duties related to the assigned project.
- Ability to assist in organizing and implementing cultural activities.
- Ability to perform clerical functions; observe safety principles and work safely.
Education & Experience:
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance.
- Currently enrolled in a college or university, majoring in Arts or a related field, is desirable.
