Position: Para Educator - Behavioral Support (7 HOURS)

High school diploma or equivalent and one of the following:
* associate of arts degree in child development, psychology, or other related field of study (transcripts must be attached) or
* a minimum of twelve college units in such areas as child behavior, child growth and development, education, or psychology (transcripts must be attached) or
* a minimum of two years relevant full time experience in a special education classroom with satisfactory evaluations. And
* must have valid california driver's license and be insurable.

* to be considered all requirements must be attached when submitting application. In addition to one of the options above, verification of a minimum of six additional hours of in-service training, or three college units, in behavior modification, behavioral intervention, and/or dtt must be completed prior to employment, or completed within one year of employment. Current certification in behavioral and instructional strategies as offered through workshops and seminars must be maintained in this position (lancaster school district or selpa certification are equally acceptable).

Applicants must successfully complete each part of the examination process in order to be considered further.

we may require supervisor recommendation forms for in house employees. Written examination: tbd - time & date may be subject to change. (please check your email for invitation to test) performance test: to be determined scoring: written examination will carry a weight of 100%. All examinations must be passed with 75% or better. An eligibility list will be in effect for 6 months or until less than 3 applicants remain on the list.

An eligibility list will be in effect for 6 months or until less than 3 applicants remain on the list. If five (5) applicants from the lancaster school district demonstrates the ability to meet the job qualifications, the position will be filled on a promotional basis.
