Special Education Teacher

Description

The Autism Academy's Lancaster campus has an opening for Education Specialists (teachers) who are credentialed to instruct students with mild/mod OR mod/severe challenges. Students range K-12 and are challenged with a wide variety of developmental issues.

This opportunity is for full time employment (213 work days), Monday through Friday 8:30 AM-3:30 pm.

Desired:

* Experience working with developmentally challenged students

* At least a basic understanding of the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) but we are willing to train the right person

Required:

* Reliable & organized

* Able to work collaboratively as part of a team

* Computer literacy

* Flexibility, if necessitated by an emergency, to shift from an onsite model to a remote model by utilizing company provided technology to teach remotely (this is/has been an evolving adaptation to the challenges presented by the pandemic)

* Passion for working with this amazing and unique population

* Mod/Severe Credential

* California Education Specialist Credential
