Lancaster Math​/ELA In-Person Tutors '-Teachers

Hey Tutor has partnered with a school district in Lancaster and we are looking to hire math and ELA tutors who can assist elementary and middle school students during after‑school hours. You will be working with students in grades K–8th.

You will actively supervise students as you help them catch up on learning gaps developed over the past school year.

Requirements: you must be comfortable passing an in‑person background check.

Pay: $20–30 per hour, depending on a combination of education and experience and will be determined at the time of the interview.

• Work with groups of students (without teacher or school site staff support).
• Prepare the area for tutoring sessions.
• May be responsible for picking up and dropping off students from designated areas at the school site.
• Take attendance and run lessons through Hey Tutor Dashboard (if applicable).
• Document student progress with Hey Tutor Dashboard.
• Facilitate students taking and completing baseline and summative assessments when requested by a manager.
• Lead a group of students in tutoring sessions, using curriculum and materials provided by the program.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging for the students.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices.
• Engage and interact with tutoring lessons alongside the students.
• Clock in and out daily via Deputy for shifts.
• Perform any other duties required by the Company, manager, or school site.

Must be available between 1:00 pm–6:00 pm, Monday‑Friday. Shifts are 3 hours a day depending on school site needs.

• Must have completed an Associate’s degree or higher, or be currently enrolled in college/university in Education.
• Must be comfortable working with large groups of students.
• Prior tutoring experience (excellent with kids).
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting.
• Clear FBI‑DOJ background check (provided through Hey Tutor).
