Are you passionate about helping others gain independence and confidence through real-world learning? We’re looking for a part-time Adult Skills Trainer to lead fun, hands-on life skills trainings for adults with mild intellectual disabilities.
You’ll work in small groups and one-on-one settings, using community locations like grocery stores, libraries, parks, and public transit to teach essential adult life skills. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being active, creative, and making a real impact in people’s lives.
What You’ll Do- Lead engaging life skills trainings and activities in domain areas such as:
Money Management, Transportation, Job readiness and communication, Cooking and nutrition, Health and Safety awareness, and more! - Transport clients to locations in company vehicles (8‑9 passenger vans)
- Work as a team with co-leaders and community partners to plan and deliver engaging trainings and activities
- Support participants in reaching their personal goals
- Document progress and provide feedback to help participants grow
- Create a positive, inclusive, and empowering learning environment
- Schedule:
7:00 am to 11:00 am, Monday‑Friday
- High school diploma or GED
- Must possess and maintain a valid CA driver’s license and at least state‑minimum car insurance
- Must be at least 25 years of age (for insurance purposes)
- Must possess a clean driving record (no moving violations, at‑fault accidents, etc.)
- Must have moderate smart cell phone and computer skills.
- Possess a valid certificate of completion of first aid and CPR training
- Maintain current and valid licenses, certificates, or registrations that may be legally required to provide the service.
- Must pass a background check.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in education, human services, or related field
- At least one (1) year experience in teaching, coaching, or mentoring
