Position Overview
Antelope Valley College invites applications for an adjunct (temporary, part‑time) faculty applicant pool for an Emergency Medical Technologies (EMT) Instructor position.
Representative Duties- Instruct students in the assigned discipline.
- Assignment may include teaching courses during the day, evening, online courses, and/or off‑campus sites.
- Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience, OR
- Any associate degree and six years of professional experience, OR
- The equivalent.
- Approved Paramedic Certificate plus six years professional experience (Antelope Valley College Equivalency, approved by Academic Senate).
- Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Knowledge about or experience working with students who are underrepresented in higher academia, aiming to reduce equity gaps.
- Teaching experience reflecting culturally responsive teaching practices.
- Successful experience teaching Emergency Medical Technology at the college or university level.
- A strong generalist background and teaching experience in Health and Safety including Emergency Medical Technology.
- Teaching experience and academic background in one or more of the following:
Emergency Medical Technology. - Experience using a learning management system (LMS).
- Experience in developing and revising curriculum, assessing student learning outcomes, and participating in program review documents.
