Position: Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) Adjunct Instructor

Position Overview

Antelope Valley College invites applications for an adjunct (temporary, part‑time) faculty applicant pool for an Emergency Medical Technologies (EMT) Instructor position.

Representative Duties
  • Instruct students in the assigned discipline.
  • Assignment may include teaching courses during the day, evening, online courses, and/or off‑campus sites.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Any bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience, OR
  • Any associate degree and six years of professional experience, OR
  • The equivalent.
  • Approved Paramedic Certificate plus six years professional experience (Antelope Valley College Equivalency, approved by Academic Senate).
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Knowledge about or experience working with students who are underrepresented in higher academia, aiming to reduce equity gaps.
  • Teaching experience reflecting culturally responsive teaching practices.
  • Successful experience teaching Emergency Medical Technology at the college or university level.
  • A strong generalist background and teaching experience in Health and Safety including Emergency Medical Technology.
  • Teaching experience and academic background in one or more of the following:
    Emergency Medical Technology.
  • Experience using a learning management system (LMS).
  • Experience in developing and revising curriculum, assessing student learning outcomes, and participating in program review documents.
