Salary: $67,262.65 - $98,264.29 Annually

Description

This is a full‑time tenure‑track, 10‑month classroom teaching assignment in the Aerospace, Industrial Arts, and Applied Technologies Division. The teaching load is 15 lecture hour equivalents per semester. Faculty are also responsible for 5 office hours per week and may be required to give additional preparation time. Participation in faculty/division meetings, curriculum development, program review, and campus committees is expected. Courses may be offered onsite, online, or hybrid in evening and Saturday formats.

Duties
  • Teach fifteen lecture hour equivalents per semester in Electricity (Electrical Power Distribution) (ELEC) using demonstrations and active learning strategies.
  • Maintain five office hours per week, including publicly posted hours.
  • Prepare instructional materials and allocate necessary preparation time.
  • Participate in faculty/division meetings, yearly program review, curricular planning, development, and implementation; collect data and write action plans for student learning outcomes; evaluate educational programs and assist in college governance.
  • Engage in professional development and continuing education to maintain currency in the field, pedagogy, and student support strategies, especially related to equity initiatives.
  • Maintain records of attendance, census, grades, and related data.
  • Create a learning environment conducive to effective student engagement.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with all employees and others encountered in the course of work.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
  • Travel between district locations as required.
  • Perform other instructional‑related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience, or associate degree and six years of professional experience.
  • College work equivalent to a bachelor’s degree and two years of related occupational experience in the discipline; OR college work equivalent to an associate degree plus six years of related occupational experience; OR eight years experience as a journeyman electrician or electrical maintenance technician.
  • Part‑time experience is prorated; two years of which must include assignment as an instructor, trainer, or supervisor in the electrical field.
  • Valid California Contractor’s License (B or C10); or meet the experience requirements for a contractor’s license in California.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students (Cal. Rev. Stat. § 53024.1).
