Adjunct Accounting Instructor

Adjunct Instructors are temporary, part-time faculty in the Accounting discipline at Antelope Valley College. As a member of the Career Technical Education division, you will help students attain their career goals by teaching accounting, bookkeeping, business math, introduction to business, and related courses.

• Instruct students in the assigned discipline.
• Teach courses during the day, evening, online, and/or at off‑campus sites.

• Master’s degree in accountancy or business administration with an accounting concentration, OR a bachelor’s degree in business with an accounting emphasis or in business administration with an accounting emphasis or economics with an accounting emphasis AND a master’s degree in business, business administration, business education, economics, taxation, or finance, OR the equivalent.
• Alternative:
  Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or business administration with an accounting concentration with a CPA license.
• Equivalency not required for faculty in this division.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

• At least three years recent industry experience in accounting and business with progressively responsible duties.
• At least one year recent community college teaching experience.
• Experience using instructional technologies such as MS Office, computerized projection systems, and the Internet.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse student backgrounds.
