Job Title: Associate Environmental Specialist
Location: Los Angeles, CA 91750
Duration: Temp to Hire
Job Mode: On-Site
Pay rate: $ 59.55/hour on w2 without benefits
Shift hours: 9/80 hybrid schedule starting as early as 7:00am - 4:45pm with every other Friday off.
Job Description:- Coordinates and/or performs sampling, packaging, chain of custody, and shipping related to wastewater permit-related requirements.
- Reviews analytical data, prepares reports, and assesses compliance with wastewater permit-related requirements. As needed, coordinates and/or performs resampling.
- Conducts inspections for compliance with environmental program requirements. Participates in program audit and assessment teams. Documents result and participates in corrective action development where deficiencies are found.
- Documents and investigates environmental incidents.
- Researches, analyzes, and prepares documentation for compliance with environmental guidelines and project improvements that minimize environmental impacts.
- Prepares technical reports and may conduct presentations.
- Coordinates internal review of documents from external entities and compiles comments.
- Prepares checklists, protocols, procedures, and manuals.
- Performs other related Environmental Specialist job duties as required.
- To be successful in this role, you'll need to work collaboratively with coworkers, perform administrative duties, and demonstrate critical thinking skills. The Associate Environmental Specialist will prioritize work assignments, be detail oriented and have strong communication skills.
- Analytical protocols and scientific terms used in water and hazardous material testing; laboratory data analysis and interpretation used to conduct environmental investigations, and water treatment and distribution processes and operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience; or two years in an MWD Assistant Environmental Specialist II classification; or master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience.
- General Required Knowledge of:
Theories and practices of environmental science, methods, and techniques used to conduct environmental analyses and investigations; principles and practices of technical research, analyses, and report preparation; applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations; and current office technology and equipment.
- Valid California Class C Driver License that allows you to drive in the course of your employment.
