Position Overview
As a Lead/Senior Plumbing Design Engineer at Henderson Engineers, you will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise to our six market sectors:
Business, Community, Grocery & Distribution, Health, Retail, and Venue. You will work alongside the sister company, Henderson Building Solutions, to deliver a unique client experience.
Multiple Openings:
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
- Proactively advise and mentor less experienced designers and engineers across teams or practices, providing oversight and technical guidance.
- Takes responsibility for the success of those under direct supervision.
- Design advanced building systems, prepare design documents, and perform engineering calculations in coordination with project teams and multiple disciplines. Mentor and lead design staff, including supervising or managing others.
- Lead project and design efforts from concept design through completion.
- Produce solutions to complex engineering problems and complicated design challenges through direct involvement or in an advisory capacity.
- Ensure that production of drawings, specifications, reports, and analyses meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
- Participate in the development of tools, resources, and company practices.
- Implement and reinforce design and engineering standards at the team or practice level.
- Oversee the quality of projects and designs through the quality review process and regular check-ins; may provide final reviews for projects under purview.
Lead Level
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field (mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architectural) and 11 years of experience, or 13 years without a degree. Professional Engineering (PE) license may count as one year of experience.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, A&E industry, codes, design guides and standards across a broad range of practices and project types.
- Knowledge of earned value, contracts and construction processes and methods.
- Proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field and 15 years of experience; or commensurate experience in lieu of a degree. Professional Engineering (PE) license may count as one year of experience.
- Expert knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, A&E industry, codes, design guides and standards across a broad range of practices and project types.
- Working knowledge of earned value, contracts and construction processes and methods.
- Working knowledge of Revit and Bluebeam Revu.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license.
- FE exam completion, LEED and/or WELL accreditation.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, A&E industry, codes, design guides and standards applicable to a range of practices, projects or program types.
- Denver: $113,520 to $198,000
- Los Angeles: $119,712 to $208,800
- New York City: $125,904 to $219,600
- Washington DC: $119,712 to $208,800
Individual salaries may be higher or lower than the stated range depending on factors unrelated to the applicant's race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, ethnicity, age, or disability.
