Role Description The Security Systems Support Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Southern California / Los Angeles County region. This position is responsible for installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining security systems such as access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related networked devices. Daily tasks include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance, and documenting system configurations and service activities.
The technician will support engineers on integration projects, assist with system upgrades, and coordinate with vendors and clients to resolve technical concerns. The role also involves ensuring that systems meet quality, safety, and compliance standards while providing clear technical support and guidance to end users.
Qualifications
- Experience with security systems installation, configuration, and support (e.g., access control, CCTV, intrusion detection).
- Working knowledge of basic networking concepts and hardware relevant to integrated security solutions.
- Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair technical issues with electronic and low-voltage systems.
- Strong documentation skills for recording configurations, service logs, and system changes.
- Effective communication and customer service skills for working with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Capacity to work on-site in the region including frequent travel to client locations as needed.
- Ability to lift and handle equipment, work on ladders, and perform physical tasks related to installation and maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or coursework in electronics, IT, or security systems is preferred.
- Prior experience in commercial, government, or educational security environments is a plus.
