Position: OBGYN/Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (NP)/PA

Position Overview:

ONGYN NP/PA – NP Preferred

  • Coverage Duration: Immediate start for 3 months, with potential for extension.
  • Practice Setting: Outpatient clinic.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Clinical Responsibilities: The primary focus will be on gynecology (GYN) cases, with some obstetrics (OB) involvement depending on schedule demands, including well-woman visits. The role will include a mix of in-person and telehealth consultations. Candidates should possess strong expertise in GYN, including but not limited to contraception management (Nexplanon and IUD placements), routine gynecological evaluations, and dealing with abnormal presentations such as abnormal bleeding, ovarian cysts, and vaginal discharges.

    Proficiency in conducting ultrasounds for fetal heart tones is required, with preferred experience in early dating (down to 8 weeks gestation), though not mandatory. Must be adept in preventive gynecological care, endometrial biopsy (EMB), managing abnormal bleeding, and hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Experience with Bartholin abscess drainage, Pap smears, LEEP procedures, and family planning is also crucial.
  • Call Expectations: No on-call responsibilities.
  • Patient Volume: Anticipated daily patient load of 22-28, with an allocation of 10 patients per 4-hour block.
  • Team Composition: The shift will include collaboration with physicians, other nurse practitioners, and support staff including medical assistants (MAs) and registered nurses (RNs).
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Utilization of EPIC system for documentation and patient management.
  • Credentialing Timeline: Estimated at 90 days from the submission of application materials.

    Certifications:

    Board Certification required; BLS certification from the American Heart Association preferred.
  • Licensure: An active California nursing license is mandatory.
