Location: In Field:
Lancaster, CA. Work will be primarily performed at a designated field worksite location at a central Race Communications worksite. Occasional travel to and work from other Race offices or off‑site locations may be required.

Compensation and Benefits: $36 to $40 per hour. 5 days/8 hours per day. 100% company‑paid medical and dental benefits. Free fiber internet service.

Position

Impact

The Network Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining network infrastructure to support reliable and efficient communication services. With a focus on physical facilities and equipment, this role involves the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network components at various sites such as overhead framing, DC plants, cable stitching, relay racks, switches, servers, cable termination and testing. The technician responds to electrical outages, telecom disruptions, and security system incidents involving generators, DC plants, ATS, and PDUs.

They collaborate closely with network engineers and other Race team members to ensure the seamless operation of telecommunications networks, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate to optimize network performance and reliability. A strong understanding of network technologies and infrastructure, together with expertise in facility safety practices is essential for delivering high‑quality telecommunications services to customers.

The technician must communicate and work effectively with external service representatives and internal team members across diverse backgrounds. They must perform independently, as well as collaborate with other Race team members across teams and levels.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Eligibility for US employment without sponsorship.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license (subject to DMV verification).
  • 2+ years of experience as an installer in the telecom industry.
  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in network facilities (DC power plants, generators, air conditioning, ATS, fiber cross‑connects, fiber troubleshooting, data centers).
  • Proficiency with standard electrical and telecom testing tools (volt meter, OTDR, VFL, optical power meter).
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment/items up to 80 pounds safely, following proper lifting techniques and safety protocols.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Effective communication in English (speaking, reading, writing, comprehension).
