* Under general supervision, this position acts as a subject matter expert for Mobile Technicians. The Sr Mobile Technician is responsible for performing complex maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt trailers, containers, chassis, and power equipment at a customer site or rail yard using a mobile service truck. Technicians must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete all fleet maintenance processes while checking that units meet J.

* ** Key Responsibilities** :

+ Perform complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, tire replacements/flat repairs, brake repairs, electrical diagnostics, and basic structural repairs on tractor and trailer equipment

+ Oversee recall campaigns and sign off on completion

+ Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair ABS system and specialized equipment including refrigerated units, lift gates, and frame alignment

+ May onboard and mentor new technician trainees; act as team lead to coordinate shift support and tasks

+ Follow all safety requirements while at a customer or rail yard

+ Professionally operate assigned service truck and according to company requirements; properly attend to service truck parts inventory

+ Accurately complete work orders and other written materials according to established procedures

+ Properly document damage to company equipment to estimate the cost of repairs

+ Demonstrate proficient use of a cutting torch and welding equipment to perform mid-level repairs on chassis, frames, and other equipment

+ Patch holes in trailer/container side panels and roofs ensuring all holes are sealed and water-tight

+ Perform annual AA Trailer and FHWA Brake Inspections sign-off

* Minimum Qualifications:

*
* + 18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000 lbs or 21 years of age for equipment over 10,000 lbs with 3 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and/or military equivalent experience

+ AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences

+ Possess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelines

+ Able to supply your own basic tools or purchase through our toolbox purchase program

+ Willingness to work outdoors in the elements

+ Able to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if needed

+ DOT-certified in FHWA inspections and air brakes

* Preferred Qualifications:

* + High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 3 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience, and/or military equivalent experience

+ Welding certification

+ Forklift certification and experience

+ EPA section 608 certification and Refrigeration License

+ Ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediums

+ Ability to manage multiple priorities

+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

+ Proficient computer skills and/or comfortable working with a computer, including Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

+ Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively

+ Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move appliance up to 50 pounds)

+ Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)
