Job Summary:A 25-bed Critical Access Hospital located in the scenic White Mountains, is seeking a high-performing Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse. In this community-focused setting, you will provide intensive monitoring for patients who require a higher level of care than general med-surg but are not yet ready for the ICU. This role requires a nurse who is comfortable working autonomously in a smaller facility while utilizing state-of-the-art technology.
KeyResponsibilities
- Acuity Management: Monitor and care for patients with cardiac, respiratory, and neurological instabilities requiring continuous telemetry and frequent assessments.
- Cardiac Support: Titrate and manage vasoactive drips (e.g., Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin) according to hospital protocols.
- Respiratory Care: Manage patients on non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP) and high-flow oxygen therapy.
- Critical Access Versatility: As a nurse in a smaller facility, you must be prepared to stabilize patients for transport to larger trauma centers if their acuity exceeds the hospital's resources.
- Documentation: Utilize the Meditech EMR system for all clinical charting, medication administration, and care planning.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of dedicated experience in PCU, IMCU, or Stepdown units is required.
- Travel Experience: Previous travel experience is highly preferred.
- Licensure: Active New Hampshire (NH) or Compact RN License required at time of submission.
- Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association) – Required.
- ACLS (American Heart Association) – Required.
- EMR: Proficiency in Meditech is highly preferred.
- Residency: No locals. Permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility.
- Setting: 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH).
- Location: Lancaster, NH 03584.
- Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW).
- On-Call: No on-call requirements for this position.
- RTO: Requested Time Off must be limited to 5 days and included in the initial submission.
