Location: Lancaster, NH (satellite shop in Colebrook at 75 Bridge St). Candidates must live within 30 minutes of this work center.
Job Overview: The Lineworker constructs, installs, repairs, maintains and removes distribution and transmission circuits, substations, and associated facilities. Duties include rigging poles on both energized and de‑energized circuits, installing transformers, voltage regulators, capacitors, reclosers, replacing fuses, working on underground equipment, and making repairs on energized equipment. The role may also involve tasks associated with lower rated classifications.
Wage: The ultimate wage rate is $53.35 per hour. The actual starting wage will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience.
Emergency Response: Each employee may be assigned to Emergency Restoration. This may involve assisting during emergencies outside normal work hours, locations, and responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Construct, install, repair, maintain and remove distribution and transmission circuits, substations, and associated facilities.
- Rig poles on energized and de‑energized circuits.
- Install transformers, voltage regulators, capacitors, and reclosers.
- Replace fuses and work on underground equipment.
- Perform repairs on energized equipment.
- Execute tasks associated with lower rated classifications as required.
- Stand by line department on a rotating schedule.
- Respond to outages, trouble calls, and system emergencies during normal and overtime hours.
- Assist in emergency restoration assignments.
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Minimum 18 months of overhead electric line experience on energized and de‑energized lines.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical theory and company line work practices and policies.
- Ability to become a certified 34.5 kV rubber glover.
- Availability to respond to outages and emergencies and reside within 30 minutes travel time to the assigned work center within six months of employment.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s license (Class A with Special Trailer Endorsement) and a safe driving record.
- Mechanical aptitude and strong knowledge of electric transmission and distribution systems.
- Analytical, alert, resourceful with a history of safe work habits.
- Ability to perform moderately heavy physical work outdoors in all seasons for extended periods.
- Successful completion of CAST aptitude test and/or physical prescreen.
- Employee weight limit: 300 pounds.
