Teacher ; Adult Basic Education​/GED

Responsibilities

• Develop lesson plans to address the needs of inmates, including individualized training for assignments
• Provide instruction for the Adult Basic Education/General Education Development program
• Administer necessary tests
• Evaluate inmates and provide necessary direction
• Maintain discipline and/or security of the instructional area
• Attend education meetings, unit staff meetings, and in‑service training
• Prepare required records and reports
• Maintain inventory and order supplies and materials needed
• Perform other education and/or related duties as requested by education administrators
• Perform other duties as required on assignment

Applicants who possess a baccalaureate degree and an Adult Educator four‑year permit and/or are eligible to receive a four‑year permit from the Ohio Department of Education may be considered. Any current Teacher Certificate appropriate to the grade level to be assigned;
Teacher 1, 71721, must also have a baccalaureate degree or less.
