Description:
Compiles health information by reviewing, cataloging, and checking medical reports for completeness.
Organizes medical reports for placement in files.
Reviews charts to ensure all reports and signatures are present.
Types health information forms, which includes preparing charts for new admissions and filling out forms.
Prepares requests for specific reports or certificates.
Compiles and types statistical reports such as daily and monthly census, admissions, discharges, or length of stay.
Files reports into health information records.
Records information in logs and retrieves health information records within the filing system.
Provides information from health information records after determining the appropriateness of the request.
Coordinates with other departments concerning health information record procedures.
Demonstrates skill in the use of a typewriter or word processor and calculator.
Ability to deal with problems involving few variables within a familiar context.
Writes routine business letters, evaluations, or records following standard procedures. Proofreads medical reports and recognizes errors. Recognizes when medical records information is missing.
Gathers, collates, and classifies information about data, people, or things.
