Harcum House Child Advocacy Center is seeking a full-time (40 hrs/week) Child & Family Therapist to provide trauma-focused mental health services to children and adolescents impacted by abuse and their non-offending caregivers.
The therapist will maintain a caseload of approximately 25 weekly clients, providing evidence-based treatment using models recognized by the National Children’s Alliance. Services include trauma screening and assessment, individualized treatment planning, caregiver involvement, progress monitoring, and support for barriers affecting participation.
This position is not driven by insurance reimbursement, billable-hour requirements, or productivity quotas. Harcum House does not bill families for services. The therapist is trusted to use sound clinical judgment and focus on providing effective, responsive care.
As part of the Child Advocacy Center team, the therapist will:
- Participate in multidisciplinary case review and provide clinical consultation
- Coordinate with Harcum House staff, MDT partners, and other involved providers
- Maintain required clinical documentation, case tracking, and outcome measures
- Support applicable grant goals and quality-assurance activities
- Participate in ongoing consultation, training, and professional development
Candidates must have a master’s degree in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or a related field and hold an active Ohio professional license. Independent licensure, experience treating children and families impacted by trauma, and training in an evidence-based child trauma model are preferred.
This is a full-time position based in Lancaster, Ohio, with some scheduling flexibility based on client and family needs. Salary begins at $58,000, and is based on licensure and experience.
