Department Floater

Summary:

Department Floaters needed for a manufacturer in Lancaster, Ohio to support operations across multiple roles within the production and shipping environments. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive on variety, adaptability, and leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform duties across all multiple roles within the production department
• Learn and operate all equipment relevant to departmental functions
• Fill in for team members as needed to maintain workflow continuity
• Cross-train on other plant positions to support broader operations
• Maintain clean and organized work spaces
• Participate in Lean initiatives and departmental improvement projects
• Comply with all safety protocols, including PPE and Lockout/Tagout awareness
• Authorized to assist in shipping and receiving operations
• Review and apply Best Work Practices (BWPs) for all trained positions

These are temporary-to-direct, full-time positions, hiring immediately. At this time, only second shift is available.
2nd shift:
Monday to Thursday, 3:30 p.m.

- to 2:00 a.m. Pay is $22.72 per hour.

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong communication and multitasking abilities
• Ability to read and write English (for reports and work orders)
• Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure to 1/16 "
• Comfortable reading and working with fractions to 1/16 "
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and use lifting equipment when needed
• Capable of standing, bending, and reaching throughout the workday
• Able to work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
